Well, it’s that time of year again and the city has gone to the dogs. Literally. I don’t know what you all were doing last night but I was watching the Westminster Dog Show at Madison Square Garden. 

So far, I am rooting for Uno, the 15 inch beagle (left). I know what you’re thinking - how can I, a yellow lab girl, root for the 15 inch beagle. Well, ’cause the beagle won his group and my other favorite from last night - the Bulldog - got beat out by the hideous and ridiculous poodle. Well, Uno is CUTE beyond belief, bayed at the crowd, wags incessantly, is perfectly proportioned and is much more my kind of dog than the ones from breeds which I cannot pronounce.

Of course, the other reason is that sad as I am to say it – yellow labs (in fact, labs in the general sense) never win Westminster. And Patton (right) would like someone to explain why. Go on, look into those eyes and tell him that he isn’t best in show.

Now - if you will excuse me - I’m going over to the Westminster Kennel Club site to watch more puppies
