London has been very much on my mind of late – not just because I’m in the midst of a new Gotham Girl series over on the Boris Johnson site*
Speaking of which – the latest edition is all about bike share programs. Of course, Gotham Girl is supposed to compare how London and NYC go about certain things in different ways but since NYC didn’t – and isn’t – going about bike share at all, there is a fair amount of frowning and foot stamping in this particular piece. But, you know – hopefully in an amusing way.
And it’s not just because I’ve lately been indulging in Twitter twinning New York and London:
- @gothamist and @londonist
- @TimeOutNewYork and @TimeOutLondon
- @NYCMayorsOffice and @MayorOfLondon
- @metmuseum and @britishmuseum
- @TheJewishMuseum and @JewishMuseumLDN
- @AMNH and @NHM_London
No, its on my mind because I’m heading over there in September and I’m already becoming overwhelmed by the number of things I could do as well as the number of things I want to do.
The more I wrestle with this list, I kept imagining it being reversed. I suppose people traveling to NYC also feel this way sometimes. I mean, if you’re visiting for a few days – how do you decide what goes on the MUST SEE list and what gets shunted onto the nice but maybe next time list? If you live here, what do you advise people to do NOW vs. do later if they are on a tight schedule?
