New York Magazine is all about these lists:

• Best of NY Food
• Best Home and Helpful Services in NY
• Best Shopping in NY
• Best Fun and Nightlife
• Best of NY Beauty Culture
• Best if NY for Kids

The Village Voice has its own view on these choices though:

• Best NY Eats
• Best NY Shopping
• Best NY Entertainment
• Nightlife and Bars
• Best in NY Sports, Sex and Recreation - this is the Village Voice after all

Meanwhile, Citysearch has a Best of New York Category broken down into more subsets than a single web page should hold.

The numerical version of the Best Of List, is of course the Top Ten List.
