Ah, deadline of the week has been met and now I can met and so I rest easier in my mind as I peruse the news. And I see that mini-mayor must have gotten a hold of the caffeinated stuff again. During speech, Mayor Bloomberg blasts presidential candidates
“Asked later if he was talking about anyone in particular, he made clear he didn’t think any presidential candidate met his expectations.“
They don’t meet mine either, Mike. I’m with you. I can’t say that I am with Fats Domino (who Mayor McLittle visited briefly) when he said he’d vote for Mikey if he were to run. I still don’t think he intends to. He’s a realist - our Mini-Mayor - and besides, he’s having far too good a time smacking them around from the sidelines.
Who’s going to the Macy’s Parade Thursday? Anyone? Anyone? I’m not but I shall watch on the big screen at home - if only to see what the puppy does when he sees the balloons.
Speaking of annual holiday events, yesterday was the first gridlock alert day of the festive season. I can’t imagine that traffic will be any worse than it was on Thursday.
You remember Thursday? The constant, cold rain. The crazy wind? Well, I got out of the cab in that rain - 25 blocks from my destination - because we were going SO slowly down Fifth Avenue that I decided walking would be faster. Indeed, it was.
The cab trailed behind me almost the entire way. I know because I kept an eye on it (when I wasn’t struggling to keep my umbrella upright and in one piece).
Fifth Avenue at 12:30 folks. Might as well be a parking lot. No city can function like this. They have to implement something now. If it doesn’t work, cancel it and try something else. People need to stop whining about every suggestion being an inconvenience or how each proposal will make something more expensive. People, getting around is already inconvenient and if you’ve tried cabbing anywhere, it’s already as expensive as hell.
