will they or won’t they? I don’t know about you but I am waiting breathlessly to see if there’s going to be a stagehands’ strike. Luckily for me, Pygmalion is one of the four shows that will not be affected.

I am not waiting breathlessly to hear what is said at next month’s public meetings about the MTA fare hike proposals. Why? Because I know what will happen. Poeple will wail and gnash their teeth. They will demand to know what the MTA is doing with the money they have now. They will demand to know what the MTA is going to do about what could be called their annus horribilis. And what will the MTA say? Nothing. Just about how expensive it is to run the system - even as badly as they are running it. Oh, did I mention that the fare hike they want is even higher than the one they proposed last month?
