In celebration of the weather going up above freezing today (and in anticipation of it going even higher tomorrow), we’re off to the Costume Institute today to see the latest show — blog.mode: addressing fashion. I’ve been reading the the exhibit blog for a while and I can resist no longer. Especially now that I can go without risk of my contacts freezing to my eyeballs.
A full report will follow of course but only after a post-outing trip to Payard for the world’s most delicious hot chocolate.

[...] The last show I went to at the Costume Institute was blog.mode - a great disappointment but I think it was a poorly thought out concept implemented by people who only half understood what “the kids” were telling them about tech, blogs and the like. It couldn’t be just about the clothes and that left the show coordinators floundering. This is straightforward fashion and influence so they should be able to wrap their pashmina shawls around it more effectively. [...]
